The Two of Swords belongs to the suit of Swords (also called Blades; Spades in playing-card terms), the air suit that deals with thought, truth, communication, conflict and decisions. In tarot numerology, 2 is the number of choice, balance and partnership. The Golden Dawn assigned this card to Moon in Libra and gave it the title Lord of Peace Restored.

Two is balance, and in air balance can become paralysis: two thoughts of equal weight cancel each other out. The Moon in Libra, emotions in the sign of the scales, rules this card. The Golden Dawn called it Peace Restored, a fragile truce reached by not choosing.
