Most "free psychic chat" sites give you a few free minutes and then ask for a card to keep talking. This one works differently: the chat is free, the limits are shown up front, and nothing is ever charged. Below you'll find a checked table of what other chat sites really give for free, how this chat works, what to ask, how an AI chat compares with a live psychic, and the red flags to watch for on any chat site.
Which free psychic chats are really free? We checked
"Free psychic chat" can mean anything from a truly free AI chat to a few discounted minutes that need your card first. On October 24, 2026 we opened each site and wrote down four things: who answers, whether you need an account, whether you need a card, and what you actually get before paying.
| Chat | Who answers | Account needed? | Card or purchase needed? | What you get free | After that |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mystica (this page) | AI | No | No | 6 messages per chat, 3 chats a day | Nothing: no paid plan |
| Celeste (Tarotap) | AI | No to start | No | "A few questions a day" (number not stated) | Sign in to ask more |
| Aikoo | AI | Yes (free) | No to start | Starter credits, plus daily sign-in bonus | Buy credits; each message uses a few |
| Keen | Human | Yes | Yes: add a payment method and $1 | 5 minutes for $1 with select advisors (not free) | The advisor's per-minute rate |
| Kasamba | Human | Yes | Not stated on its home page | 3 free minutes on your first reading | The advisor's per-minute rate |
| California Psychics | Human | Yes | Yes: "5 min purchase required" | "15 minutes free" = up to 20 minutes in total after buying 5 | $5 to $23 per minute |
| Psychic Source | Human | Yes | Yes: "make a purchase" to start | No free minutes shown on its home page | "As low as $1 per minute" |
What this means: if you want to chat without giving a card, an AI chat is the only option that is free from start to finish. If you want a human psychic, expect to add a payment method first; the "free" part is usually a few minutes or a first-session discount, and the per-minute rate set by the advisor applies after that. How we checked: we read each site's home page, pricing page or help center (Keen: Getting started; California Psychics: pricing). Keen and Kasamba are affiliate partners.
Free chats by topic
If your question is about one area of life, these chats focus the card and the replies on that topic:
How this free psychic chat works
When you send your first message, our server draws one card at random from the full 78-card tarot deck, upright or reversed. That card becomes the theme of your conversation. Mystica, our AI reading companion, interprets the card against what you tell it and asks gentle follow-up questions to help you look at your situation from a new angle.
Each conversation includes 6 free messages, and you can start up to 3 conversations a day. You don't need an account, an email address or a credit card. When you reach the end of a chat, you can start a new one with a new card or come back tomorrow.
Prefer a single answer instead of a conversation? Ask one free question, try the free three-card psychic reading, or explore the cards yourself with the free tarot reading.
What to ask for a useful reading
The quality of any reading depends on the question. Yes-or-no questions ("Will he text me?") leave very little to explore. Open questions that start with "what" or "how" give the card, and you, much more to work with.
Love and relationships
- What do I need to understand about where this relationship is going?
- How can I stop repeating the same pattern in my relationships?
- What is holding me back from moving on from my ex?
Work and money
- What should I consider before accepting this job offer?
- Why do I feel unmotivated at work, and what could change that?
- What strength am I underusing in my career right now?
Decisions and personal growth
- I'm torn between two options. What am I not seeing clearly?
- What energy do I want to carry into the next month?
- What is this period of my life trying to teach me?
Give it context
One or two sentences of background make a big difference. "My partner and I argue about moving cities, and I don't know if I'm being unfair" leads to a far more personal conversation than "Is my relationship OK?"
AI psychic chat vs a live psychic chat
Both have their place, and it helps to be clear about what each one is. Mystica is an AI psychic chat (some people call it an AI psychic bot): it answers instantly and for free, but it is software, not a person with special abilities.
| Mystica (AI chat) | Live psychic chat | |
|---|---|---|
| Who answers | An AI that interprets a randomly drawn tarot card and your words | A human reader using intuition, tarot, astrology or other methods |
| Cost | Free: 6 messages per chat, 3 chats a day | Usually charged per minute after a short introductory offer |
| Availability | Instant, any time | Depends on which readers are online |
| Best for | Reflecting on a situation, exploring a card, organizing your thoughts | A longer personal session with a human connection |
| Limits | Does not claim supernatural knowledge and avoids predictions about health or legal matters | Quality varies a lot between readers and platforms |
If you'd like to try a human reader, our guide to introductory psychic readings explains how per-minute phone and chat readings work and what they cost. Alternatively, Oranum lets you watch psychics live before choosing one (affiliate link). Whichever site you use, set a budget before you start and check the per-minute rate, which is often shown only after the free minutes. Our guide to free psychic readings online explains how those introductory offers usually work.
Red flags on psychic chat sites
Leave the chat if a reader:
- Says you are cursed, hexed or surrounded by negative energy that only they can remove.
- Asks for extra money for candles, rituals, spells or "cleansing" work.
- Creates urgency: "you must act tonight" or "this offer ends in five minutes".
- Asks for your full name, address, bank details or passwords.
- Makes guaranteed predictions about illness, death, pregnancy or court cases.
- Tells you to cut off family or friends, or to trust only them.
- Keeps you talking while the per-minute charge runs without telling you the total.
A good reading, from a person or a tool, should leave you calmer and clearer, never frightened or dependent. If a question is really about anxiety rather than the future, this guide on intuition vs anxiety can help you tell the two apart.
Your privacy
We don't ask for your name, email or payment details to chat. Your messages are stored only so Mystica can remember what you said during the conversation, and they are deleted automatically after 48 hours. To prevent abuse, we keep an anonymous, hashed identifier (never your IP address in plain text) that counts how many free chats have been used. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat. Read our full privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions
Which free psychic chat needs no credit card?
We checked the main sites on October 24, 2026. AI chats such as Mystica on this page ask for no card at all. Human psychic networks need an account and almost always a payment method: Keen asks you to add a payment method and $1 for 5 minutes, and California Psychics' 15 free minutes require a 5-minute purchase. The full table above shows what each site gives for free.
Is this psychic chat really free?
Yes. Each chat gives you 6 free messages and you can start up to 3 chats a day. There's no signup, no credit card and nothing is charged.
Am I talking to a real psychic?
No. Mystica is an AI reading companion. It uses tarot symbolism and reflective questions to help you look at your situation from a new angle. If you want a human reader, the comparison above explains the difference.
How is my tarot card chosen?
When you start a chat, our server draws one card at random from the full 78-card deck, upright or reversed. The AI doesn't pick the card; it only interprets the card it receives.
Can the chat predict my future?
No reading, human or AI, can guarantee what will happen. Mystica talks about tendencies and possibilities and helps you think through choices. It won't make predictions about health, death, pregnancy or legal outcomes.
What happens to my messages?
Your conversation is stored only so the chat can remember what you said, and it's deleted automatically after 48 hours. We never ask for your name, email or payment details to chat.
Can I talk to a psychic for free online?
Yes, with one honest caveat: the free chat on this page is with Mystica, an AI reading companion, not a human psychic. It is free with no time limit per message, no sign up and no credit card. Human psychic sites usually offer only a few free minutes before charging per minute.
Is there a free psychic chat with no sign up?
This one. You can start chatting straight away without an account, an email address or a phone number. Each chat has 6 free messages and you can start 3 chats a day.
Is this a free psychic text chat?
Yes. Everything happens by text in your browser: you type, Mystica answers in a few seconds. There is no phone call, no app to download and no phone number to give.
Can I get 10 free minutes with a live psychic?
Human psychic networks rarely give truly free minutes. Keen, for example, has recently advertised a discounted first session (such as 5 minutes for $1 or 10 minutes for $1.99) and then charges the advisor's per-minute rate. Check the offer before you add a card, and read our Keen review first.
Is this free psychic chat good for a first-time reading?
Yes. It is a simple way to see what a reading feels like before deciding whether you would ever pay for one. Start with one open question, such as "What do I need to understand about this situation?"
Are there free psychic chat rooms?
Yes. Open, all-day group rooms are mostly gone, but you can still use free AI chat rooms like this one, free live video rooms and community rooms. Our guide to free psychic chat rooms compares what each one really gives you for free.
How this reading works
Your cards are drawn at random by code from the full 78-card deck, never chosen by the AI. The AI then writes an interpretation of those cards for your question, following the traditional meanings described in our tarot encyclopedia. Tap any card name in your result to read its full meaning.
Readings are for reflection. For health, legal, financial or mental-health decisions, please speak to a qualified professional.
