The Mystica Editorial Team
Every tarot card page, dream dictionary entry and guide on The Mystica is published by The Mystica Editorial Team. This page explains who that is, what we know and how we work, so you can judge our content with full information.
Who we are
The Mystica Editorial Team is the small, independent team that owns and runs themystica.com. We publish under a shared editorial byline rather than individual names. We think it is more honest to tell you that plainly than to invent personas with impressive-sounding titles, a practice that is unfortunately common in this niche.
What we cover
- Tarot: the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, Major and Minor Arcana, spreads, reversals and the Golden Dawn system of correspondences behind modern tarot.
- Dreams: traditional dream books, the psychological approach of Carl Jung and modern dream research, and esoteric symbolism.
- Intuition and wellbeing: practical guidance on overthinking, relationships and decision-making, always framed as reflection rather than therapy.
Sources we rely on
Our card meanings are grounded in the primary texts of modern tarot and in widely accepted reading practice, including:
- Arthur Edward Waite, The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1910), the companion to the Rider-Waite-Smith deck illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith.
- The correspondences of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, including the attributions published in Book T.
- Carl Gustav Jung's writings on archetypes and dreams, including Man and His Symbols (1964).
- Artemidorus of Daldis, Oneirocritica (2nd century CE), the oldest surviving dream-interpretation manual.
- Historical scholarship on tarot's origins as a 15th-century Italian card game.
How content is produced and reviewed
We use AI tools to help draft and structure some content, and our interactive readings are generated by AI from cards drawn at random. Every guide and card page is edited and checked by a person on our team against the sources above and our editorial standards before it is published, and pages show the date they were last updated.
