Panjabi (or Punjabi) is a person whose family originates from Panjab, often referring to its 1947 boundaries.
Also, Panjabi refers to the mother tongue of Panjabis, regardless of their religion. Panjabi, in Gurmukhi script, is the official language of Indian Panjab, and is especially respected among the Sikhs. A.G.H.
