Ohrmazd (Ahura Mazda) precedes the Amesha Spentas as spiritual beings in the Persian pantheon. He is acknowledged as the Lord of Wisdom and the oldest of the Ahuras. In the Greek pantheon Ahuramazda (another spelling) was depicted as Zeus. A.G.H.
