Rsabha

Rsabha, the bull, a Hindu god mentioned in epic and Puranic literature, is an unusual avatar of Vishnu. He is said to be similar to the Jain deity Rsabhanatha, and possibly this is an attempt to meld the two religions by absorbing Jainism locally. A.G.H.
