Ninsikil, goddess of Dilmun, Mesopotamian (Sumerian), was the patron deity of the mythical paradise land of Dilmun, which was probably perceived somewhere off of the Persian coast but beyond the frontiers of Sumer. Ninsikil is the deity who pleads to Enki to grant the earth a supply of fresh water in the sacred river of the Tigris and Euphrates. A.G.H.
