Nanse, Mesopotamian (Sumerian), is the goddess of justice and daughter of Enki (or Ea); she is associated with the interpretation of dreams. She is sporadically mentioned in texts, and is very closely identified with the city of Lagas with a cult center at Sirar, but also a subject of a highly ethical hymn from Nippu. A.G.H.
