Athirat, a Western Semitic (Canaanite) fertility goddess, was identified in Old Babylonian tests of Hammurabi as the daughter-in-law of the king of heaven. In pre-Islamic southern Arabia, she was said to be the consort of the moon god Amm. (See Aserah) A.G.H.
