Pusan, nourisher, is a Hindu sun god mentioned in Vedic and Puranic texts. He was not among the original six descendants of the goddess Aditi, or the aditya, but later when the list was enlarged two twelve, Pusan was included. All the deities assumed the role of sun god. Pusan is the charioteer of the sun and the guardian deity of journeys and pathways. His color is golden and attributes are four lotuses. A.G.H.
