Dhyanibuddha is the general name of a spiritual or meditation buddha, Buddhist (Vajrayana). This is an emanation of the Adibuddha and generally regarded as one of a group of five representing the cosmic elements, the mystic counterpart of the human buddha. When the five are represented as a group, their common symbol includes the attributes of the staff on a lotus. A.G.H.
