Aryaman, companion, a minor Hindu sun god mentioned in Vedic and Puranic texts. In Vedic times he was the god of hospitality, one of the six Aditya sons of the goddess Aditi. His attributes are the club, two lotuses, and prayer wheel. A.G.H.
