Lady's mantle

Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) is an important herb of alchemical lore, as the first element of its scientific name ("little alchemist") suggests. It has deeply fringed leaves which collect water in beads along the edges. Alchemists reputedly used lady's mantle to collect dew for their work. It has herbal medicinal properties, particularly in healing female reproductive system. Its astrological correspondence is Venus in Scorpio. A.G.H.
