Hal


This is a Moslem term meaning "now" used to denote a condition of mystical ecstasy involving violent physical action, such as wild dancing, shouting, or even foaming at the mouth. Hal occasionally occurs when a devout and emotional Moslem visits the grave of a famous saint. A.G.H.
