Monad is a term that is used in several religious schools of thought, but in Greek it originally meant a unit. In Theosophical mysticism it means the Divine Spark, part of the Logos. In occult mysticism it signifies Nature’s pattern for each species with references to differences between contrasting characteristics. According to Giordano Buno it is the microscopic embodiment of the divine essence that pervades and constitutes the universe. A.G.H.
