Dharmapala

 


Dharmapala is the collective name for eight tutelary deities, Buddhist and particularly Lamaist (Tibet). They wear royal apparel, but are terrible in appearance, and are guardians of the law. Their general attributes are ax, cup, knife, and snake. A.G.H.
