Aur (Hebrew AVR, «light») is one of three forms of fire in magical philosophy. It is identified with sunlight on the physical plane, and with spiritual light and illumination on higher planes.
Aur is generally thought to be a higher form of light bringing balance to the other two forms of light, ob and od, which are respectively negative and positive, death and life, white and black magic. Aur is occasionally spelled «or» or «aor.» A.G.H.
