Ani Ma’amin (Hebrew, “I believe”), is a short Jewish creed of unknown authorship, which is based on Maimonides’ principles of faith and dates back to the 15th century. In most Ashkenazi prayer books, it is printed at the end of the Morning Service. More particularly it is the title of Elie Wiesel’s cantata, as song related to the Holocaust. A.G.H.
