Albigerius

Albigerius was a Carthaginian soothsayer who was spoke of by St. Augustine. He would enter strange ecstasies in which his soul would leave his body, and on these journeys he traveled to distant parts where he read people’s innermost thoughts and found out anything he desired to know. His mysterious powers were attributed to the agency of the Devil.

St. Augustine mentioned another case as well. The possessed man was ill with a fever, and though not in a trance, but wide-awake, when he saw the priest, who was coming to visit him, from a distance of six leagues away. He therefore told those assembled around his couch the exact moment the good man would arrive. A.G.H.
