Friar Rush
This is a house-spirit (German Rausch) that was supposedly sent
from infernal regions to keep friars and monks of the 17th century in the
same state of wickedness that they then existed in. He gained admittance
into monastic houses as a scullion; probably as a representative of the
spirit of inebriety. A.G.H.
