Biosophy
A system
of self-education and selr-improvement developed by Dr. Fredrick Kettner
of New York, and founder of the Biosophical
Institute. He defined biosophy (derived from
Bios, life; and Sophia, intelligence) as the science and art
of living based on the awareness and practice of spiritual values, ethical-social
principles and character qualities essential to individual freedom. In his
booklet The Need for a Thousand Year Plan (1948) he recognizes the
part played by the human mind in building civilization, but says, "Humanity's
next problem is to realize the creativity of the heart of man." A.G.H.
