Aetites or Aquilaeus

Aetites or Aquilaeus is a precious stone possessing magical properties. It is composed of oxide of iron with a little silex and alumina, and is thought to be in the stomach or neck of an eagle. Supposedly it heals falling sickness and prevents untimely births. It should be worn bound on the arm to prevent abortion, and on the thigh to help parturition. A.G.H.
